PROGRAM NOTES

Dedicated to victims of gun violence everywhere, Hollow Point offers a musical expression of the destruction and horror it causes. Sorrowful, lyrical melodies of the muted trumpet voice survivors’ pain and anguish, punctuated by strident, clarion calls of the open trumpet evoking the anger that gun violence incites. By expressing the toll of gun violence in human terms, Hollow Point implores us to bring an end to the tragedy of gun violence.
